25 Years of Aloha: Our Journey from Garden to Skin

25 Years of Aloha: Our Journey from Garden to Skin
This September, we celebrate a milestone that fills our hearts with gratitude 25 years of ʻOhana Organics. What started as a simple love for plants, healing, and handmade remedies has blossomed into a woman-owned, award-winning skincare company rooted in aloha and community.
Growing up in Hawai‘i, I was surrounded by the spirit of aloha and a deep respect for the natural world. When I moved to Humboldt County, California, I carried that inspiration with me. What began as herbal remedies crafted for family and friends soon grew into a thriving small business, one built on the belief that skin care should be pure, plant-based, and made with love.
Our philosophy has never changed: what we grow is what we craft. In our certified organic garden, we nurture herbs like calendula, lavender, comfrey, rose, and yarrow. Each plant is harvested by hand, infused with care, and transformed into small-batch creations that carry the power of the earth straight to your skin.
Unlike mass-market skincare, every jar, butter, and oil we make comes directly from this cycle to create our handcrafted products. It’s our way of ensuring integrity, sustainability, intention and aloha in every step.
Over the years, our product line has grown, but always with the same heart. From Shea Butter Creams that soften and soothe, to our award-winning Tattoo Butter® loved by artists worldwide, our hydrating Tattoo Oil, and our popular pain cream Kava Butter® each formula reflects our dedication to healing and sustainability.
ʻOhana means family and over the last 25 years, our community has grown into a true ʻohana. Whether at the North Country Fair in Arcata, in tattoo studios across the country, or through the messages we receive from customers worldwide, your support has shaped our journey.
Each purchase, each conversation, and each shared story reminds us why we do what we do: to create skincare that nurtures both body and spirit, while caring for the earth we all share.
As we step into the next 25 years, our mission remains clear: To keep growing our own herbs and crafting in small batches. To stay sustainable, eco-friendly, and true to our values. To spread aloha, one product at a time
The future holds exciting opportunities — but our roots will always remain the same.
Mahalo for all your support, Tara -owner/founder
